Do You Have a Water Backup Endorsement?

IMG_1511

We just watched a WRAL “5 On Your Side” report about a Raleigh woman who experienced a sewer line backup problem that cost her $45,000 in repairs. As the video shows, the city will not pay for these damages and your insurance will only help if you have a water backup endorsement added to your homeowners’ or renters’ insurance. Even if you do have this included in your policy, be sure to check the limit as some plans only provide $5,000 in coverage. Ranging from about $35-$70 a year, a good water backup endorsement is affordable and will have a much higher limit to potential damages. We recommend that everyone, including renters, has this coverage.

Check out the WRAL report and give G. Suggs Insurance a call to review your policy to make sure it is up to date.
